1. Who

1.1. Atticus

1.1.1. "If you had been on that jury, son, and eleven other boys like you, Tom would be a free man,' said Atticus. 'So far nothing in your life has interfered with your reasoning process. Those are twelve reasonable men in everyday life, Tom’s jury, but you saw something come between them and reason. You saw the same thing that night in front of the jail. When that crew went away, they didn’t go as reasonable men, they went because we were there. There’s something in our world that makes men lose their heads—they couldn’t be fair if they tried. In our courts, when it’s a white man’s word against a black man’s, the white man always wins. They’re ugly, but those are the facts of life.'"

1.1.1.1. This shows how the court case is unfare and tom Robinson was falsely accused due to his skin colour

1.2. Dolphus Raymond

1.2.1. “But why had he entrusted us with his deepest secret? I asked him why. ’Because you’re children and you can understand it,’ he said, ‘and because I heard that one -’ He jerked his head at Dill: ‘Things haven’t caught up with that one’s instinct yet. Let him get a little older and he won’t get sick and cry. Maybe things will strike him as being – not quite right, say, but he won’t cry, not when he gets a few years on him.’ ‘Cry about what, Mr. Raymond?’ Dill’s maleness was beginning to assert itself. ’Cry about the simple hell people give other people – without even thinking.’”

1.2.1.1. Later, Scout and Dill find out that Mr. Raymond does care about what other people think, but not in the way they expected. His paper bag turns out to be hiding not whisky but Coke, and his constant drunkenness is a put-on. There's a reason: "When I come to town, […] if I weave a little and drink out of this sack, folks can say Dolphus Raymond's in the clutches of whiskey—that's why he won't change his ways. He can't help himself, that's why he lives the way he does"

1.2.1.1.1. Like Calpurnia speaking one language at home with the Finches and another at the African-American church, Mr. Raymond's double life shows Scout the compromises people have to make in order to live in communities where they don't quite fit in.

1.3. mrs maryweather

1.3.1. "There's one thing I truly believe, Gertrude," she continued, "but some people just don't see it my way. If we just let them know we forgive 'em, that we've forgotten it, then this whole thing'll blow over."

1.3.1.1. Ms maryweather belived in forgiveing people and moving on.

1.4. Tom Robinson

1.4.1. “Atticus had used every tool available to free men to save Tom Robinson, but in the secret courts of men's hearts Atticus had no case. Tom was a dead man the minute Mayella Ewell opened her mouth and screamed”

1.4.1.1. Tom Robinson doesn’t get justice after he is falsely accused of raping Mayella Ewell by Bob Ewell.

2. When

2.1. Court case

2.1.1. Justice is shown at the court house when boo radley is heard.

4. What

4.1. Atticus Forgives Bob Ewell after he spits in his face, and uses looking from his point of view to be able to forgive him

4.1.1. Despite Bob Ewell falsely accusing Tom Robinson, atticus still finds it in his heart to forgive him. he finds empathy for him and looks from the situation from Bob Ewells view. the feelings he is possessing at that time are rage and confusion and atticus knows that and manages to forgive him for spitting him his face.

4.1.1.1. This could be a case of false justice as Bob Ewell was guilty of spitting in Atticus face but still had justice, The quality of being fair and reasonable that Atticus had was in his favour

5.1. At the heart of the novel Harper Lee show forgiveness and justice from both point of views, for and against. it shows how rasisum took a big impact on justice in courts and how forgiveness was really given from most white people. special people like Atticus and Dolphous raymond who are against racism go to great lengths to be in contact with black people. people like them are the ones who forgive and believe in far trial despite skin colour.

6. How

6.1. Through discusing whats wrong about rasim to Scout

6.1.1. "Come here, Scout," said Atticus. I crawled into his lap and tucked my head under his chin. He put his arms around me and rocked me gently. "It's different this time," he said. "This time we aren't fighting the Yankees, we're fighting our friends. But remember this, no matter how bitter things get, they're still our friends and this is still our home." (Page 108)
