1. Divergent plate boundaries can be found at oceanic-oceanic plate boundaries and continental-continental plate boundaries
1.1. Oceanic-oceanic plate divergence.
1.1.1. Magma rises from the mantle to fill the gap between the plates as they move apart.
1.2. Continental-continental plate divergence;- Can cause continents to break up.When plates diverge or move apart,they are stretched,causing fractures to form at the plate boundary.
2. Divergent plate boundaries include the southern boundaries of the Australian Plate, and the southern and eastern boundaries of the Pacific plate.
3. Magma moves upward to the surface where it cools to form new oceanic crust along these boundaries.
