2. Learning Theories

2.1. Connectivism

2.1.1. Teachers guide students in taking control of their learning and making connections

2.1.2. Learning happens in many different ways

2.1.3. Learning happens when people are able to make connections between different information sources

2.1.4. It's more important to know where to find information than knowing the information itself

2.2. Constructivism

2.2.1. All learners have prior knowledge that new knowledge is built upon

2.2.2. Learners direct their own learning and learn how to learn

2.2.3. Teachers encourage and guide learners through the learning process

2.2.4. Students make connections between prior knowledge and new knowledge rather than between different information sources like in connectivism

2.3. Cognitive Load

2.3.1. Working memory has a limited capacity and is used to take in information learn it, and transfer it to long-term memory

2.3.2. Long-term memory acts as storage for our learnt knowledge

2.3.3. Teachers must ensure that new information is being learnt and transferred into long-term memory

3. Philosophy of Teachnology

3.1. How a teacher feels about using technology in their teaching

3.2. Can include written statements or can use different types of technology

3.3. Like a philosophy of teaching, but about how to use technology in teaching

3.4. I can use examples of how I used technology in my lessons during my IPT
