1. I second this - Winston

2. Try to execute the lesson plans by ICT mentees in the first semester.

3. Lessons planned should work within the constraints of the time allocated in our SOWs. It should not be an add-on as it will be an additional burden for the teachers.

3.1. I believe that the lessons are not a burden but more importantly, the

4. Suggestions for improvement

4.1. Collate the various ICT tools that teachers had explored so far and let teachers share on the usage of the ICT tools they have explored. This will help to ease teachers' workload, so that they do not need to expend many hours to explore the usage of the ICT tools that they intend to use.

4.2. I suggest that all teachers are involved is this meeting so that we can implement it in a bigger scale.

4.3. Share the ICT tools available with the teachers so teachers will not have to browse through the ICT site for the different ICT tools available

4.4. Spent a little bit time on CT to teach or share with staff to use the new ICT tools.

4.5. Sharing to be done during contact time instead

4.5.1. I agree...

4.6. Perhaps we could use any simple ICT tools during the ICT lessons for the students.

4.7. Provide more opportunities for teachers to actually be present when a colleague is conducting the ICT lesson. - Saudah

4.8. ICT should start in Term 2 so that teachers (mentees) have more time to prepare and carry out the lesson -Dazzalyn

4.9. It will be good to sit in on an actual ICT lesson to see how the tool is carried out and possible hiccups that may occur. - Jaclyn

4.10. level teachers can sit together, look at the SOWs and see how they can incorporate ICT into their lessons realistically.

4.11. ICT department can decide beforehand which ICT tools are suitable for which level and share with level teachers who can just work on these specific tools.

6. Concerns

6.1. Time constraint in carrying out the lesson plans especially with Holistic Assessment spanning over a period of 4 weeks

6.2. They need to spent time doing this. this.

6.3. P1 students may have difficulty...They are still learning how to do do touch typying . Some still take a long time to log on the PC.

6.4. It might only conduct some plans or lessons at school, cause not all the students have computer. Thurs they might not able to at home.

6.5. Some of the ICT tools are not so suitable for the lower primary kids, more for the upper primary students.

6.5.1. We can use the same tool to suit the ability of the students. (Raizal)

6.6. Some ICT tools require some pre-preparation such as in using Google Docs, under MCOnline, I struggled to obtain the email addresses of my students in order to share the Doc with them. - Jaclyn

6.7. Students took a longer time than we planned for because some students were not familiar with the programme or app being used. As such, more time was spent to cater to their -needs. -Saudah

6.8. For lower pri students, keyboarding skills is a challenge to them. Before embarking on the ICT lesson, I have to take quite some time to teach my students on doing logging in, left & right click function of the mouse etc. Hence, the time needed is much more than what was planned in the ICT lesson plan.

6.9. Even at P3, some students are not IT savvy enough to use some of the more advance tools. They even have difficulties logging in. Winston

6.10. With our tight syllabus and many other activities, I think many teachers are reluctant to spend time with travel to the lab and the time taken to administer and clear all the problems with computers/passwords/logging on before they can actually start the lesson proper

6.10.1. I agree with this

6.11. Appropriateness of the ICT tool should be pegged to the content, objective and the level of the students. So we could maximise the potential of the tool and the students. (Mohd Fahmy)

6.12. Time constraints in carrying out the lessons as students need to be taught the tools first to gain a certain level of mastery before the lessons can be carried out well - Imran

6.13. My students needed more time than planned when they searched for information online - Jen

6.14. more time needed ,since focus still on completing and mastering national curriculum & syllabus

6.15. I also feel that time is a crucial factor affecting its impact. Most teachers would not have the time to conduct ICT lessons and students would not have continuity if lessons were too spaced out and rare. - Dazzalyn

7. Good idea to try them out after the exams

7.1. I think this is the problem with ICT. although we all know it's good to have, there are truly many constraints that make it not so popular among teachers. As long as we consider this a good thing for after exams, it'll never gain traction among the teachers.
