1. English

1.1. Literacy

2. Science

2.1. Begin to discuss planets and the sun/solar system

2.2. Encourage an understanding of distance to planets/sun/moon from earth

2.4. Involve length and travel types so as to integrate current themes in maths/SOSE and English

5.1.4. Students create own community/write about it/discuss with others

5.1.4.1. Students speak with elder relatives about what transportation and community life was like for them

5.1.5. Discover environments: they can be built and natural

8. Art

8.2. Students to decorate paper macche planets/sun/moon for class display

8.3. Class creates a large space pod just as in the story "The terrible Suitcase" - something similar to this would be beneficial - (Picture: Space Pod, MAKEDO, 2013)

9. Performing Arts

9.1. Imagination task

9.1.1. Act out a play 1-2 minutes long

9.2. Students to pretend they have their own terrible suitcase; where will it take them? Think about this in pairs or small groups

9.2.1. Write a plan for a short play based on this. -Include a beggining/middle and end.

9.2.2. Lesson 2: Act out shows to class/school in pairs or small groups.

9.2.3. Students can use props they make to enhance performance

9.2.4. Students may take off to space or any other location. It is there choice were they choose to take the task.

9.2.5. Allow time to practice in lesson 1 and perform in lesson 2.

9.2.6. Provide story for students to read over during lesson if needed.

9.3. Rocket Games

9.3.1. Students pretend they are taking off in a rocket

9.3.2. Count down by 2's or 3's

9.3.3. Students to explore space in imagination and describe where it takes them.

10. Specialist Class (Auslan/Chinese)

10.1. Class once a week taken by specialist teachers

10.2. May be able to integrate space and feelings into AUSLAN and Chinese lessons after speaking with teachers
