Blogger Scenario by Mind Map: Blogger Scenario

1. Story/Narrative

1.1. Beginning

1.1.1. The blogger has been watching news reports recently, wondering why the channel has suddenly boosted in viewer numbers and filled with stories when before it wasn't. He decides to do some research, when he receives a text asking for money in exchange for information...

1.2. Middle

1.2.1. The insider, struggling to pay his bills after losing his job over refusing to accept a promotion (it asked him to filter through people's phones), staggers across a Blogger whilst searching the net for jobs. He decides the only way to earn money is to proposition the Blogger. He sends a text, asking to meet him.

1.3. End

1.3.1. The blogger is overjoyed that the information is all his; it's like blogging gold. Accepting the £400 owed him, the insider rushes off. The blogger begins typing out his new blog revelation, when suddenly the Insider's money is taken from his hands by a stranger. A whispered, "I think you'll find that's mine" makes the way across their lips, before they're taken away by the shadow..

2. Sound

2.1. Diegetic

2.1.1. All of my footage will have non-diegetic sounds so it's clean cut and sounds professional. I dislike the idea of editing some natural sounds out as I feel this can spoil the feel of a film

2.2. Non-Diegetic

2.2.1. There will be a small chunk of sound that will be non-diegetic. When the insider and blogger are on the way to meet, they pass a man who is playing the guitar for tips; this sound then continues through the rest of the film, with the clip of the blogger and insider meeting rather than the guitar player.

2.2.2. Overvoice

2.2.2.1. For the audience to understand what's going on, I think it's a good idea to have over voices of the characters explaining their intentions. But, instead of speaking it, they will be thinking it

2.2.2.1.1. The blogger

2.2.2.1.2. The Insider

3. Script

3.1. Focusing points

3.1.1. My dialogue will be light hearted. Although there is what some may class as violence or an abrupt, tense filled ending, I still want it to remain on a steady level, as I really do prefer lighter atmospheric films than the dark, gripping ones!

4. Props

4.1. Money

4.1.1. The money the insider is given needs to be a substantial amount, but alternatives could be okay here such as monopoly money

4.2. A phone

4.2.1. A smartphone needs to be used as the blogger's personal phone

4.3. A fake blog

4.3.1. A fake blog needs to be set up for the blogger

4.4. A guitar

4.4.1. An instrument of some kind needs to be used for the person playing for tips on the street

5. Locations

5.1. Cafe

5.1.1. A cafe seems the obvious choice as a meeting point, it looks like a professional arrangement when two people meet there to discuss something

5.2. Office

5.2.1. The blogger could have a meeting in the insider's office, or vice-versa. It creates a scene of tension in an office, because we always expect something high profile to happen

5.3. Derelict Building

5.3.1. As they are meeting in secret, it seems like the ideal place so they won't get caught, it also creates the idea of something dramatic happening

6. Characters

6.1. The blogger

6.1.1. Appearance/Character

6.1.1.1. Scrawny and scruffy with a camera around his neck, shorts, socks and sandals to go with to make him seem like your typical nerd

6.1.1.2. Walks hunched over and speaks high pitched

6.1.2. Name

6.1.2.1. Schmitt

6.2. The insider

6.2.1. Appearance/Character

6.2.1.1. Professional, friendly, but also quite sneaky, as he betrays the company he worked for by selling his story to a blogger

6.2.2. Male- Nate Female- Zoe

6.3. The boss

6.3.1. Appearance/Character

6.3.1.1. A harsh, firm person, who is more interested than making money than friends
