6. Set clear goals and share them with your team The easiest and most effective methods to motivate your team is to set clear team goals that align with short-term and long-term values or objectives. Once you are all aligned on the bigger picture, ensure every team member has an understanding on these larger goals and understands how they contribute to making them a reality. [2]

Recognise individual goals and passions To effectively motivate your team, it’s crucial to recognise that each team member will have unique goals and passions. 8.1. Group work can be challenging, you can have people with different opinions, ideas and personalities. As group members you need to ensure you are respecting other people’s beliefs and ideas, taking time to listen to each individual, even if you disagree.[1]

8.2.1. Rules for the workplace should be made clear from the start, but as a professional it should be something you practice in the workplace. Active listening, not interrupting, not dominating, asking for opinions. Also finding out from your team members they if they feel respected and seen.[1]

8.3.1. Diversity and inclusion go hand in hand. not each member of the team will be the same. Recognising and valuing this can make you grow as a team and as a group member make you feel seen and safe to voice your opinion and be yourself. [1]

8.4. Constructive discussions

8.4.1. You might not always agree with your group, they may have an idea you dont think is sutiable or doesnt align with what the group goal is. This is where constructive discussions can take place. set a positive environment and putting emotions aside.Encourage group members to listen to one another and give constructive feedback without being personal. Find a common ground [1]
