1.1. Meet with the client and understand their expectations (Mark - 3 hours / $80)
1.1.1. Discuss and determine the size, color, type, and budget of the deck
1.2. Scope out the area where the deck will be built (Mark - 2 hours / $60)
1.2.1. Take measurments of the area, determine if the area is safe to build on, evaluate the grounding, and go over regulations and precautions
2. Proposals - Mark
2.1. Develop three potential project proposals for the deck (Mark - 8 hours / $200)
2.1.1. This includes measurments of each aspect of the deck, material used, cost of each plan, and time for each plan
2.2. Client and Contractor (Alex) review the proposals and pick one (Mark - no time and no pay)
2.2.1. Get approval for the chosen deck design and clear with city regulations
3. Design/Construction Planning - Mark and Alex
3.1. Develop a plan for the chosen proposal (Mark - 4 hours / $100)
3.1.1. Order the materials and equipment (Mark - 2 hours / $50)
3.1.2. Make blueprints of the deck (Mark - 2 hours / $50)
3.2. Site preparation (Alex and Mark- 10 hours / $750 total)
3.2.1. Clear the site of debris (Alex - 3 hours / $200)
3.2.2. Level the ground (Alex - 6 hours / $500)
3.2.3. Mark the boundaries of the deck (Mark - 1 hour / $50)
4. Construction - Alex, James, and Gary
4.1. Foundational Beams (Gary + Crew - 48 hours / $1500)
4.1.1. Pour concrete for foundational beams (24 hours)
4.1.2. Install foundational beams (24 hours)
4.2. Framing (James + Crew - 48 hours / $1200)
4.2.1. Prepare lumber for framing (10 hours)
4.2.2. Install joists and beams (38 hours)
4.3. Installation (Alex + Crew - 72 hours / $3000)
4.3.1. Prepare the boards for the flooring of the deck (24 hours)
4.3.2. Install boards on the deck (24 hours)
4.3.3. Sand the boards and paint them the planned color (24 hours)
4.4. Railings and Stairs (Alex + Crew - 48 hours / $2000)
4.4.1. Install railings around the exterior of the deck (24 hours)
4.4.2. Cut lumber for the stairs (6 hours)
4.4.3. Install stairs (12 hours)
4.4.4. Sand and paint the stairs (6 hours)
5. Progress Reports - Mark
5.1. Daily Progress Reports Given to the Client (Mark - 1 hour a day / $25 a day)
5.1.1. Includes progress, changes, and asks for feedback on construction
6. Final Review - Alex and Mark
6.1. Structure (Alex - 6 hours / $300)
6.1.1. Review and test the structual support of the deck (2 hours)
6.1.2. Conduct a safety check (2 hours)
6.1.3. Make any last minute adjustments (2 hours)
6.2. Customer Satisfaction (Mark - 2 hours / $50)
6.2.1. Give client a tour of the deck (1.5 hours)
6.2.2. Ask for any feedback and to do a survey of the work done (.5 hours)
