1. Male young-adults

1.1. We represented him as thug-looking and darkly dressed to show he is 'the bad guy'.

1.2. As we put him in dark clothing with a leather jacket it makes him appear a lower class than the girl who is dressed all light and nicely.

3. British teenagers

3.1. They are British looking as they clothes they were are warm and in fashion trend with Britain.

3.2. Her accent represents British teenagers to be polite.

4. Female teenagers

4.1. Her clothes show that she is a girl and she wears a long top/dress that are light colours. She portrays a very feminine style.

4.2. She uses her phone to communicate with her friend. This shows she is a 21st century teenager.

4.3. Although the area/location doesn't look dangerous we made it look isolated and she walks alone and doesn't realise someone is following her which makes her come across naive.

5. Why we represented the social groups like this...

5.1. Middle class: We decided that to represent that middle class teenagers not over the top. We dressed them in nice clothes and used nice props (e.g. iPhone) but didn't want to make a big deal about being middles class so we simply subtly showed the audience that it was middle class teenagers.

5.2. British teenagers: We didn't change a lot of the personalities of our actors as we thought the most easiest way to represent British teenagers was to show what we are really like - by being ourselves. This meant that we used 'costumes' from the actors wardrobe and just slightly tweaked certain things to fit with our film. For example, the boy was wearing a leather jacket which he might not normally wear to walk down the road in but it fitted better with his character profile.

5.3. Female teenagers: We thought to represent teenage girls we would let our actor choose her outfit. We simply specified that we wanted her to be in light colours (to show her purity and innocence) and then let her decide as it meant it would be realistic clothes than teenage girls are likely to wear.

5.4. Male young-adults: The actor we used was a teenage boy, the same age as the female, but we decided to make him seem older (as he is quite tall and because it makes there seem more power of the female role and superiority. This would make it more of a surprise for the audience.

6. Stereotypes

6.1. The male

6.1.1. Everybody assumes that the male in the dark leather clothes must be the bad guy because he looks the most aggressive.

6.2. The female

6.2.1. People suspect that female will be the victim and will probably get hurt as her pure white clothes represent her innocence.

6.3. We decided to challenge these stereotypes to make our film more original but also because we would leave suspense at the end of our opening as the audience will be confused and wanting to see what happens next.

7. Messages to the audience

7.1. The reason we decided to create our film like this and represent the social groups in this way was so that we could show our target audience (who are the age of the characters in our film) about stereotyping and assumptions. How presumptions aren't always right and not to judge someone by what they're wearing as people express themselves how they want others to seem them not necessarily how they are as a person.
