What does a Technology Director actually do?

1. TECHNICAL
1.1. This technology coordinator has no responsibilities in the technical side of keeping the computers running. His school has an information technology position for that.
2. ADMINISTRATIVE
2.1. He works closely with administration. He serves on the technology committee and does research on future technology initiatives. He makes policy decisions with school administration.
3. INSTRUCTIONAL/CURRICULUM/TRAINING
3.1. He does most of his technology coordinating through this role. He works closely to help integrate technology in the classroom, but also contributes to professional development days.
4. OTHER
4.1. His other roles include being a classroom teacher for half of the day. He works in a small district which requires him to serve many roles.
