1.1. Roles were important to exploring because the role you had would tell you what to do. For example, "Lief Ericksson became the first European to land in America" Lief Ericksson's role was that he was an explorer and when he explored America he was the first European to explore it.

2. Decisions

2.1. The text Hudson Exploration said, " Dutch started a trading business." He made that decision to start the trading business and that helped a lot of people who had a vast amount of something and a poor amount of something else to trade for what they needed.

3. Resources

3.1. There was a lot of resources in the Artic. Some examples is that they had lots of fruit, like grapes. Another resource was the magnetic compass. This was a important resources because the compass could help them know what direction they were going in. Gun powder was also a important resource because it would help them with there gun and their gun could kill. Copper was a valuable resource because a lot of people wanted it, some people would be willing to trade for it for other things.

4. Change

4.1. The text Silk Road said, "Trade increased on the land of routes." What the text is saying is that trade increased a lot and that was a huge change for them.

4.2. The text John Cabot said " John Cabot put England on the map" That was a change for them because they were not on the map. Also when you are on the map people will know where you are and might come to your place.

5. Environment

5.1. Environment is important to the explorers. The environment had a lot of trees, grass land and rivers/lakes. In the environment there was mild climate.
