What are some standards we live by as law abiding Americans?

1. Fifth Amendment: No person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property.

1.1. A governmental ruling is needed to commit such an action, with more needs of compensation.

2. Sixth Amendment: Any person accused of a crime has a right to a speedy trial and jury.

2.1. Under federal law, you are legally allowed to choose a trial or jury, regardless of the situation created by the court.

3. Seventh Amendment Any disputes under $75,00 will not be handled in a federal court.

3.1. If a dispute exceeds this number, a jury trial is guaranteed.

4. Eighth Amendment: Forbids cruel and unusual punishment, including 'excessive' bail.

4.1. A judge may not justify any ruling outside of the laws mandated by the country.

5. Ninth Amendment: You have the free will to make decisions under natural rights.

5.1. Some laws and rules are not directly stated, which then become our natural rights.

6. Tenth Amendment: Any rights not granted to the federal government, are given to the states.

6.1. Regardless of the state's power, federal rulings still overrule and take charge over excessive laws.

7. First Amendment: Freedom of speech, religon, assembly, petition and press.

7.1. Some difficulties are the tolerance and extent of freedom of speech and religion in such a society.

8. Content Standards: Civic participation requires individuals to make informed and reasoned decisions by accessing and using information effectively.

9. Second Amendment: The right to bear arms.

9.1. Many Americans have created issues with different gun laws and regulations being created in the country.

10. Third Amendment: The Government cannot force you under any means to house a soldier within your home.

10.1. Regardless of if the U.S. is a war, they cannot force a governmental soldier to live within your means.

11. Fourth Amendment: The protection of any unwanted or unreasonable searches or seizures without proper governmental documentation.

11.1. A police officer may not enter your home to complete a search without a warrant or probable cause.
