1. EDUC407 is to help the Liberal Studies student and credential candidate become a more effective teacher - not simply more computer literate - and to provide a learning context that interests, excites, and challenges candidates to think and talk about effective teaching practices, and in what ways content delivery can benefit from the use of technology.

2. Course Goals

2.1. theoretical and an experiential orientation. The candidate will investigate and discuss research on learning and teaching over that last century and this one. Candidates will think deeply about the implications of contemporary technology in the future of education.

2.2. spend a substantial portion of hands-on course computer time developing educationally meaningful resources. This course relies on group work, partner work and individual assignments. Students will be responsible for meeting virtually with other class members for several major assignments.

2.3. integrate contemporary technology into teaching practices and learning activities using software, cloudware, and resources that serve curriculum objectives and educational goals.

3. Learning Outcomes

3.1. Analyze, learn & use current technology related to learning & education

3.2. Resourcefully, consistently, & actively participate in various individual, small group and large group assignments

3.3. Practice thoughtful, cognitive reflection about the application and impact of technology in education and culture using a course blog, course textbook topics and project development

3.4. Develop several projects integrating a variety of new technologies. Selectively narrow to the tools you found the most valuable to be integrated in the culminating project based learning activity; a WebQuest

3.5. Research, design, construct, and demonstrate a personally and professionally meaningful educational WebQuest
