1. Ratings

1.1. Potential for application to an Extension hybrid learning activity

1.1.1. Four Stars: This tool has great possibilities as a hybrid learning tool. It's a great way for asynchronous group brainstorming. It can be used during a Google hangouts session and for presentations. It has cute little icons which make things more fun.

1.2. Learning Curve - for production by instructor

1.2.1. Four Stars: I think that learning would be more dependent on the student. Obviously, instructors would need to have an understanding of the program in order to assist students who are learning how to use it. For the instructors, it shows how active each user is in a brainstorm which could be a helpful tool for assessment and grading.

1.3. Learning Curve - for student to use tool

1.3.1. Three Stars: I think that the target audience would have a big influence on the learning curve for this tool. I would expect the "Millenials" would catch on to MindMeister fairly easily but other groups would need some instruction. There are very helpful tutorials and an interactive "Help" center which make using this tool feasible.

1.4. Cost

1.4.1. There is a special rate called EduCampus for schools and universities with 20 or more users for $1 per month per user or $200 per year.

1.4.1.1. Jeff: This may be a tough sell even tough it's cheap...our system isn't very adept with these kinds of group purchases and maintaining them. Is there an individual account option?

1.4.1.1.1. I tried to add a frowny face but it didn't work :-( ---old fashioned one. -Jeff -
