1. Devices in the input column include digital camera, scanner, pointing devices and keyboards.

2. The purpose of an input device is to enter data into a computer. For example a keyboard can be used to type information into a computer. An example would be a digital camera. An advantage of using them is that filters can be applied to images to add special effects. A con could be that the quality of photos taken using the traditional film medium is better.

3. An output device would be items like smartboards, monitors, and printers.

3.1. The purpose of output devices is to share information. A benefit in say using a Smartboard is that information can be shared with a crowd. On the other hand these devices can very expensive.
