1. Input

1.1. Any peripheral (device) that can be used to enter data into a computer.

1.2. A keyboard can be used to input data and give commands to the computer.

1.3. A benefit of having a keyboard is that allows students to easily type information into the computer. A challenge is teaching student to type on a keyboard efficiently. This means learning where the keys are and how to place your hands.

2. Output

2.1. Hardware that moves information /data out of the computer.

2.2. A monitor/screen is used to display (output) computer information.

2.3. Screens are highly beneficial in the classroom because it allows for visual instruction and the use of digital media. Some students also learn better when they can see what they are learning rather than simply hear it. A challenge would be presenting information to those who may be visually impaired. Depending on the degree of the impairment, students may need adjusted screen resolutions or magnification to use the computer.
