Digital Safety and Professionalism

1. Treating other teachers all students and parents and any other member of the school staff with respect and courtesy. JMP

2. Part of being Professional is also being organized and well prepared. Always have a lesson plan for the day with modifications in case the game is too difficult or simply just not working. CWH

3. Know your students situations at home, know your schools policies for placing a video or photo of your students on the internet. BF

9. Check with teachers and student for video/photo consent forms. Do not take any pictures or videos till completely sure of the policies. BHW

10. Try not to accept Facebook friends request from students.

11. Make sure everything you put on facebook, twitter, instagram and your own personal website is appropriate. If you question it then delete it. BF

12. Always have written consent from your students parents before doing anything digital with them. BF

14. Professionalism in cyberspace is just as important as professionalism in the workplace. There should be nothing on any social site that could be misconstrued to give off the impression of bad ethics.
