eg. Audrey goes shopping for comestics when she realises guys go for girls who look pretty.

eg. Chloe shows temper and quarrels with Wing over the different environment they both live in and the difference between the both of them.

culture

Heartland talks about Singapore's culture and ruling, Singaporean boys at the age of 19 have to be enlisted into the Army, harsh training during National Service, going to a wet market nearby to shop for fish, meat, vegetables etc., non-residents of HDB are not allowed to park at season parking lots.

No, it is not realistic

Singaporean men do not struggle as much like Wing do while searching for his identity.

Many people do not experience so much like having a father he never knew or friends dying in front of him.

Nowadays, a lot of teenagers do not think so much like what Wing does in the story.

Wing is very sentimental and thinks a lot about his own heartland. He cares a lot about it and treats everything as important

Wing does not take initiative in a lot of things and is not good in expressing his feelibngs to others, making people mmisunderstand him.

He does not talk a lot and does not easily express his views on things so that is why people misunderstand him and Chloe broke up with him eventually.

This novel is only viewed from a teenager living in a HDB flat not a condo or house.

A teenager living in a condo may think differently or not think as much as his or her heartland
