4. Real Life situation
4.1. The Problem
4.1.1. They wanted to cut the sandwich in half diagonally with one chop of the knife. But they didn't know what size knife they would need to do so.
4.1.2. Three friends went on a picnic. One of the friends forgot their sandwich so another friend was going to share.
4.1.3. They remembered that they could use the Pythagorean theorem to find the hypotenuse of the sandwich.
4.1.4. The bread on the sand which was 4x5 inches.
4.2. The Model
4.3. The Solution
4.3.1. The Pythogrean theorem is a squared + b squared = c squared
4.3.2. 4^2 + 5^2 = c^2
4.3.3. 4^2 = 16; 5^2 = 25
4.3.4. 16 + 25 = 41; 41 = c2
4.3.5. √41 = 6.4; 6.4 = c
