Web 2.0 and Decoding the Past

1. VoiceThread

1.1. VoiceThread is an interactive collaboration and sharing tool that enables users to add images, documents, and videos, and to which other users can add voice, text, audio file, or video comments.

1.2. Each student will identify at least one method that archaeologists use to relatively date soil and use VoiceThread to share their method of choice with the whole class. Students will write out their research and create and post a video exemplifying the method. Each student is required to comment on at least three videos and posts. This will be a great way for everyone to participate and to learn from one another.

1.3. Thinking Skills

1.3.1. Students will create their own video clips.

1.3.2. Students will explain how an archaeologist relatively dates soil using text and video.
