4. Technology

4.1. Paper Printing-printing becomes much easier and causes the price to drop. Changes cost of daily news papers to drop price to a penny each.

4.2. Airplanes-Idea developed by the Wright Brothers. Transcontinental airmail services developed from this innovation.

4.3. Photography-flexible film developed, many people became interested in it and used it as a hobby or for photo-journalism.

5. City Life

5.1. Skyscrapers-they allowed for infrastructure to be built upwards to accommodate the growing populations.

5.2. Electric Transit- Created mass public transportation the was efficient and spread throughout the city. Helped to create suburbs and expand city.

6. Expanding Public Education

6.1. Schools were thought of as essential to developing children into adults that would one day run society.

6.2. Reading, writing and arithmetic were the basic focus in schools and expanded to science, civics, and social studies later in education.
