7. Lesson steps

7.1. Introduction

7.1.1. • Recap last week’s lesson on parachutes. • Give students a quick quiz, where they write down three points they remembered from last week’s lesson. • Explain to the students that this lesson is continuing on about parachutes. • This lesson they will be using their technological skills and designing a parachute • Students to sit on floor and see the IWB. • Show short clip form You Tube: “How a make a parachute ” • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFooUXyN-pA

7.2. Body

7.2.1. • Place up the IWB the mission for this lesson (Appendix D). • Explain to the students that they are now to design their own parachute using everyday materials. • Students spend the next 25 minutes on this task. They can use iPad and Laptops to research materials and how to make parachutes. • Students will draw their design on paper what their parachute will look like • Students are required to write out the steps required to make their parachute.

7.3. Conclusion

7.3.1. • Discuss with the student the next lesson they will build their parachutes. • Students will have time next lesson to finish designing parachute. • Students will be asked over the next week to collect items from home that they will use to make parachute.
