3.1. Neo-liberal Perspective

3.1.1. My particular perspective.

3.1.2. 1. While I do believe that federally funded schooling is good for the community and for low income schools, I believe that with correct usage and efficiency with the money provided that a school could be able to reduce costs. Often times school poorly plan their spending, therefore they end up spending too much in some areas and not enough in other areas. By putting someone in a position to properly disperse of the money they will inevitably need less money rather than more.

3.1.3. 2. I believe that all children deserve a good education, no matter what kind of income their household may have. Often times children in low income households are in an area with a school that does not meet all of the needs that a good student may need to strive to learn in a good environment. By giving students the opportunity to have an education in private schooling attendance these children can be given a better opportunity to learn in a good environment that allows them to excel.

3.1.4. 3. Often times people like to blame a child's home environment on their poor quality in school work, however I believe that while it may make a difference, inevitably it comes down to what the individual wants to do. It is up to them as to whether or not they succeed. I do however believe that poor school quality can impact a child's learning.

3.1.5. 4. Having the state intervene into the school systems at most times is completely unnecessary. I do however believe that there are specific instances that do need the state to step in and take control of a bad situation such as failing schools.

3.1.6. 5. Achievement gap in the school systems is something that is quite a big deal in the schools at this time and for years in the past. It is something that is seemingly changing but as time goes on and I am involved in the schools, I begin to see that often times race and social class is something that often impacts kids learning. There are many things that go along with these two things, but overall, the two do work together as to why some students fall into an achievement gap.
