Digital Tools and Adult Learning by Mind Map: Digital Tools and Adult Learning

1. Introduction

1.1. If you are anything like me, and have a hard time adjusting to the concept of online learning, well never fear there are ways to fix that. In todays age we have so many digital tools that can help all of the different kinds of learners, whether you are a Visual, Auditory, or a Kinsthetic Learner!

2. Conclusion:

2.1. In my conclusion I hope to give a little bit of a summary on each of the types of learning and what you can do to help be successful as an online student using digital tools. When we did our assignment of the Library Navigation, I found a very useful tool and that is limiting your search by having org, .gov, etc. This has helped me with a little bit of research!

2.2. If you all have any suggestions don't hesitate to hand them out, they are always welcome!

2.3. I look forward to reading everyones outlines, and final drafts!

3. Works Cited:

3.1. www.learningpath.org

3.2. Used the Websites Tab for advice on what to look for, from the Library Navigation Assignment/Page.

4. Topic One:

4.1. Visual Learners:

4.1.1. MindMesiter: This is a mapping tool that is used to help people visualize what they are learning (can be used on and off line.)

4.1.2. Bubbl.us: This is a flash-based brainstorming tool that allows people to chart out thoughts, story ideas & homework

4.1.3. TeacherTube: This source works like the popular website, known as youtube, the only difference is, these videos are education specific. It hosts videos for visual learners on nearly any topic imaginable.

5. Topic Two:

5.1. Kinesthetic Learners:

5.1.1. Quizlet: Specifically designed for students to get involved, make their own flash cards & quizzes. On top of you are able to view other students study materials that were made.

5.1.2. ClassMarker: This is so you can create your own quizzes online, with the option of time limits, to help test you knowledge on the subject being studied, or to just better prepare yourself for that quiz coming up.

5.1.3. SparkNotes: This is designed to help get involved in assigned reading projects, when you visit SparkNotes online. It offers free study guides, quizzes and other interactive aids for readers.

6. Topic Three:

6.1. Auditory Learners:

6.1.1. Audacity: Allows the student to read and record anything you want, for example an assignment or notes, then go back and review them, only this time you aren't reading it, you are listening.

6.1.2. NaturalReader: If you don't like the sound of your voice reading your assignments, this program is designed to read text that is stored in your computer. So it is kind of like your computer is an acting teacher.

6.1.3. ProfCast: The student would use this to transform a lesson powerpoint and such, into a podcast.
