Difference Between Input and Output Devices by Mind Map: Difference Between Input and Output Devices

1. This touch pad offers a small touch area, requires little dexterity, and is not pressure-sensitive. You can place it anywhere, such as on your lap, the desk, or the floor. Little or no movement is needed from the shoulder, arm, wrist or hand. The benefits of using such technology is that everyone can use it and especially those students who have movement difficulties. Incorporating such technology within the instruction is fairly easy. When the need presents itself to practice on the computer, students with such disabilities are able to use the trackball and keyboard if required to ensure effective learning is occurring.

2. Intellikeys keyboard comes with six standard overlays but can be fully customized with Overlay Maker, a related software program. The user loads the overlay file and places the customized overlay on IntelliKeys. This type of keyboard along with enlarged keyboards are useful for those who are visually impaired. However, students without this type of disability can also use this keyboard as well. Using such a keyboard would enhance the learning capability of those who have low vision. Incorporating this type of input device within the classroom wouldn't be challenging. This keyboard would improve the students ability to learn.

3. INPUT DEVICES:An input device is any device that allows users to enter data and commands. The most common input devices on a computer for inputting data are the keyboard and pointing devices, such as a trackball, joystick, touch pad, mouse, and a stylus. (Duffy & McDonald, 2015, p.93)

4. The use of the monitor has been revamped throughout the years. The monitors have advanced to touchscreen, 3D and word enlargement via the screen. This would be useful for someone with love vision to have the screen placed on top of the monitor which would enlarge the lettering on the screen. Incorporating this screen would enable all students to see clearly and it'll assist those with disabilities as well.

5. OUTPUT DEVICES: Output devices include all hardware components that move information (data that have been processed) out of the computer to make it accessible to you. The two primary output devices for classroom computers are the monitor and the printer. (Duffy & McDonald, 2015, p.94)

6. The use of printers, whether used for assistive technology or for those without disabilities within the classroom has been invaluable. Using printers is almost like taking it back to basics when it was important to print and observe your final product. Increasingly, as we advance in the use of technology, we are also reminded that holding on to the way we conducted business before isn't bad at all. Many assessments, both formative and summative have been conducted using printed paper.

7. Headphones allow amplification of sounds.
