1. Alphonse Frankenstein- Dad. "Filled many public situations with honor and reputation.", "He was respected by all who knew him for his integrity and indefatigable attention to public business"(Walton chapter 1) Alphonse became Caroline’s protector when her father, Alphonse’s longtime friend Beaufort, died in poverty. Respected, intelligent, caring.

2. Caroline Beaufort- Mother. "Possessed a mind of an uncommon mould, and her courage rose to support her in her adversity" Married Alphonse (Walton Chapter 1) Loving, courageous, encouraging.

3. Elizabeth Lavenza- Adopted Victor said, "She was the beautiful and adored companion of all my occupations and my pleasures." She was a very loved person.(Walton Chapter 1) She was a calm and concentrated person. She is destined to marry Victor. Elizabeth is Victor’s cousin, the daughter of Alphonse’s sister; when Victor is four years old, Elizabeth’s mother dies and Elizabeth is adopted into the Frankenstein family. Beautiful, loved, and calm.

4. Victor Frankenstein-protagonist "I am by birth a Genevese." Born at Naples. " Ancestors had been for many years counsellors and syndics." Victor becomes increasingly fascinated by the mysteries of the natural world. Smart, curious, thoughtful.(Walton, Chapter 2)
