2.2.2. Oracles found on turtle shells are the earliest evidence of development in the Dynasty

2.2.3. Tortoise shells with writing

2.2.4. They would cast inscriptions on bronze vessels

2.2.5. Confucius emphasized the need for men to be well educated and self taught

3. Arts and Education

3.1.2. They developed a writing system that influenced others for the next 3000 years

3.1.3. Many of the books that they used were books of spelling, politics, poetry, ect...

3.1.4. Art was made from mostly clay and stone

3.1.5. They painted gods, goddesses, spirits and everyday life

3.2.1. Some important chinese schools of thought were born

3.2.2. Bronze working became common

3.2.3. In some bronze first chinese characters were found (mostly the persons name)

3.2.4. Paraphernalia for early rituals were made of bronze

4. Geography and Agriculture

4.1. Sumerians

4.1.1. Lived between two rivers at the bottom of a mountain

4.1.2. Vast and dry plains

4.1.3. The surplus of food grown was able to feed a class of people who did not farm

4.1.4. Marshlands were best for farming

4.2. Shang/Zhou

4.2.1. Shang-style agriculture

4.2.2. To save from flooding, Shang people made complex irragation system

4.2.3. Millet, wheat, rice and barley were farmed

4.2.4. Believed the success of crops was because of please ancestors

6. Economy and Trade

6.1.1. Traded for things they cod not make or get

6.1.2. Temples and palaces were the economic influenses

6.1.3. Traded for building materials, stone, metal, ect...

6.1.4. The king has mostly equal people on each catogory of work

6.2. Shang/Zhou

6.2.1. archeologists found shops outside of some places of living

6.2.2. Thought to trade their crops and even their domesticated animals, including silk worms

6.2.3. Goods circulated by tribute and gift rather than trade

6.2.4. Before Zhou took over shang, Zhou and Shang actually "gifted" with each other

6.2.5. Early china (politics etc.)

7.1. Shang/Zhou

7.1.2. Chinese priests used bones to answer questions about the future

7.1.3. Human sacrifices were used to make Shang TI happy.

7.1.4. Worshipped many Gods

7.2. Sumerians

7.2.1. Beveled that everyone was owned by god

7.2.2. Every city and village ahd their own gods

7.2.3. They believed that men were created to serve the gods and give them what they needed to survive
