1.5.1. Jobs included pottery maker, stonecutters, bricklayers, metal smiths, farmers, shepherds, fishers, weaver, leather workers, and sailors.

2.1.1. The Shang Zhou had a monarkey consisting of a royal family

2.5.1. Many people of the Shang/ zhou dynasty settled on farms permanently and lived off of the land.

2.5.1.1. They farmed millet, wheat, rice, and barley. These were their major sources of food but they still sometimes hunted.

2.5.1.1.1. The jobs that were held in the Shang/Zhou civilization included Government officials, military personnel, priests, merchants, and farmers.

2.6.1. The Shang/ Zhou people created complex forms of irrigation and flood control to guard against floods from the yangtze and yellow river.

2.6.1.1. They had created iron tools that had increased food production and allowed for a food surplus

2.6.1.1.1. Chariots (made with bronze) were created which had improved their military.

2.7. Arts and Education

2.7.1. They used bronze to fashion weapons, parts of chariots, and ritual vessels. Bronze played an important role in the material culture during this time.

2.7.1.1.1. Some Shang/Zhou craftsmen were into jade carving. Some Jades were used in sacrificial offerings to gods and ancestors, in burial rituals.
