1. Group 1. Mastering

1.1. Strategies: These students have a great amount of prior knowledge in decimals. Teacher will provide a brief lesson on their errors and reinforce them with a tutorial video. Students must complete following worksheets and compare their work as a group. They may move onto the next stage where they add and subtract decimal numbers. Since it is a small group of students, they may watch a tutorial on decimal addition and subtraction and create a poster together and show how to solve such problems.

2. Group 2. Developing

2.1. Strategies: These students have some prior knowledge however since they showed a number of errors, it is apparent that they need a few more direct instructional sessions. Teacher will provide instruction on decimals, comparing it to the past fraction lessons to connect the bridge. Students will be give specific item worksheets to master decimal numbers. Students will also watch some helpful videos to reinforce their learning.

3. Group 3. Begining

3.1. Strategies: These students were able to answer only a few questions correctly. Students need to go back a few steps. Teacher and support staff will help students one on one and teach decimal numbers compared to whole numbers and fractions. Teachers will use several visuals (videos, pie chart, money.etc) to help students understand. If necessary, teacher will use first language ques for helping students. Online games will also be used to engage students and help their learning more fun.
