2.1. Journal #1 Hi my name is Creighton and the last couple of days have been crazy. My mom was getting mad at me for gambling so she had me kidnapped and sent to the colonies to live with my uncle. I was so mad. She didn’t even bother to say goodbye. When I got to the colonies, it was nothing like I expected. It was all dirty and full of people. When we got to where my uncle lived he wasn’t there. I looked out the window and saw a man being whipped and when he was done being whipped a man came in, he was one of the men watching the whipping. As soon as I saw him I knew it was my uncle. I got settled in and then my uncle told me that we are going to be heading to Florida. I didn’t want to go to Florida for some reason I hated Florida. So the day came and we went on one of the ships. We set sail. When we were on the boat we saw this ship on the horizon. I thought it was pirates, but the others thought it was a ship in distress. When it got closer it looked like women were aboard so our guard went down. Then Boom the ship started to shoot at us. When I got up the captain was dead and the people from the ship came aboard and took us to their ship. My uncle said to me to not mention that I am his nephew. He said they might hold a ransom for me. We went on their boat and they started asking questions.
