2. Students can be faced with many factors that may deter them from attending class after enrollment. This is a challenge that is faced by all higher education institutions, both traditional and online. Much attention is placed on obtaining new students, however more attention should be placed on retaining them as well. This project will discuss the role that higher education institutions play in retaining students and some of the steps that can be taken in an effort to curtail student attrition.
