2.4. Iranian fast attack craft Joshan engaged USS Wairwright. Joshan sunk.

2.5. Iranian Frigate Sahand fires on USN A-6E aircraft. Sahand subsequently sunk.

2.6. Iranian Frigate Sabalan fires on different A-6E aircraft. is heavily damaged.

3. 3 July 1988. USS Vincennes escorts USS Roberts through Strait of Hormuz

3.1. USS Vincennes mistakes Iranian Airlines flight 655 for a military aircraft and shoots it down

3.2. 290 passengers and crew killed.
