1. Chapter 8

1.3. In chapter 8 Huck finds Jim. They are together in an island. They get to know each other and be friends. Jim tells Huck about his stories in which how he got to the island and how he lost his money.

2. Chapter 9

2.2. Another night when we was up at the head of the island, just before daylights, here comes a frame-house down, on the west side.

2.3. In chapter 9 Huck and Jim go down the river and find a two story house. They go and look in the window to try to see if anyone is there. They go inside to take some things. Then Jim sees a dead person in the floor. He notices that he tried to rob the house and that he got shot in the back.

3. Chapter 10

3.1. What Comes Of Handlin' Snake-Skin

3.2. I went to the cavern to get some, and found a rattlesnake in there.

3.3. In chapter 10 Huck and Jim are getting along. One day Huck decides to play a trick on Jim. He gets a rattlesnake from outside and kills it. Then Huck puts the dead rattlesnake inside Jim's blankets and when Jim gets in he gets bitten by the snakes mate. It takes Jim four days to recover from the snake bite.

4. Chapter 11

4.1. They're After Us!

4.2. "Come, now, what's your real name?"

4.3. In chapter 11, Huck disguises himself as a girl to go into town to see what's happening and what people are talking about. He goes to the house of a new lady that lives in the town because he thinks that she won't recognize him. She tells him that if anybody finds Jim then they will be awarded $300. She also tells him that she thinks that Jim is hiding in Jackson's Island. Then Huck leaves her house and goes back to Jackson's Island to tell Jim and leave the Island. This is a friendship theme because Huck shows how much he values Jim by risking his life to warn him and leave with him.
