1.1. in metaphysics, Aristotle states that al men by nature desire to know an example is the delight we take in our senses

1.3.1. animals are different then plants because animals have the power of sensation or perception
1.3.2. humans are more complex animals - have intellectual power (problem solving ability) - a power shared by other complex animals
1.3.2.1. however we are special because we have reason, we can comprehend and understand the world in universals
1.3.2.1.1. because were special we have different causes
2. The causes
2.1. Aristototle is a scientific philosopher, meaning that he didnt believe there was another world we should be concerned with
2.1.1. Aristotle believed that everything the world had a couse (things that drove them to be created)
2.1.1.1. materal cause- the material from which the thing is made
2.1.1.2. Formal cause the shape or form a thing must take in order to be recognized
2.1.1.3. Efficent cause-the actual force used to create the thing
2.1.1.4. Final cause - what is the ultimate purpose of the thing
2.1.1.4.1. our purpose is to be happy by being morally excellent throught the golden mean
2.1.1.4.2. Aristotle believes that the final froms are not in another world, rather they are inside the objects themselves
