1. He was the 7th president of the united states. he ran three times, in 1824, he won the popular vote, but he lost the electoral vote to John Quinsey Adams.
2. In 1788 he went to nashville to study law.
3. He was the president that made the Indian removal policy, he made the native Americans forced off their land and brought to the west of the Mississippi. This event will later become known as the trail of tears
4. He was born in 1767 on the South Carolina border.
5. At age 13, he became a soldier in the local militia. He was then captured, and was told to polish an officer's shoes. He was lashed with the officer's sword in his head and hand. He had scars of this for his entire life.
6. He was a "hot head" and when one his slaves insulted him, he dueled him and killed his slave.
7. He fought in the battle New Orleans, in the battle of 1812. He was then named "old Hicory" from his soldiers.
