1. In 1957 the soviet union was the first country to launch a satellite into orbit. This expanded the technology field because other countries strived to follow this achievement.

2. In 1962 ARPA completed a computer researched named IPTO.

3. In 1966 Ipto began a computer network capable of transmitting information over transmitting.

4. In 1971 23 host computers as well as 15 institutions were a part of ARPANet.,

5. Gopher developed in 1991, a search program.

6. In 1990 Tom Berners- Lee invented the world wide web. A big jump in technology.

7. In 1992 the WIde Area Information server was invented by Brewster Kahle. In the Thinking Machines Corporation in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

8. 1993 was a big step when 15thousand people downloaded the copies of browser programs.

9. 1994, Jim Clark created Mosaic Communications Corporation in California. They launched a browser program called Mosaic Netscape.

10. 1995. The microsoft corporation released a web browser, Internet Explorer. They were "battling" Netscape for the most popular browser.

11. In 1999 "America Online, Inc., of Dulles, Virginia, purchased Netscape." Most of Americas computer used Internet Explorer while the others used Netscape.

12. Also in 1992 by now there have been about 50 sites used by the world wide web.

13. "By 2000, more than half of the personal computers in the United States used Internet Explorer, while a third used Netscape Navigator."

14. Over all 2002 is not the end. Much more is to come but it has more than 36 million sites. It continues to grow.

15. In 1992 "Marc Andreessen and Eric Bina, students working at the University of Illinois National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at Urbana-Champaign, developed a browsing program that made it much easier for people to access the World Wide Web." VERY HELPFULL!
