1.1. The US will help Cuba gain independence and then withdraw their troops from the country.

2.1. Ship that was blown up by the Havana Harbor.
2.2. Still a mystery if the explosion that killed all aboard was an accident or caused by natives there.
3. PLATT Amendment
3.1. Had 7 restrictions for US troops to get out of Cuba post Spanish-American War.
3.2. Cuba accepted and added it to their amendment in 1901.
4. Open Door Policy
4.1. Policy made China open to trade with all countries.
4.2. Kept any single power from trying to intervene or take over.
5. Nationalism
6. Yellow Journalism
6.1. Technique that newspaper companies use that makes something look interesting.
6.2. Can control the emotions of some people by the gruesome, and not always true, stories that they show about a certain topic.
