1. Verse
2. Stanza-a group of one or more lines making up a poem
3. Refrain-a line or stanza repeated in a poem
4. Couplet-a stanza with two lines
5. Quatrain-a stanza with four lines
6. Octave-a stanza with eight lines
7. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there’s some mistake. The only other sound’s the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake
8. How do you know you cannot fly higher Until you take that first step into space? The Eagle started as an egg, That became a blind chick, And now she looks from her lofty perch, Regally on humanity below, Remembering that breathless moment When she took that first leap.
9. There lives more life in one of your fair eyes Than both your poets can in praise devise
