Alcatraz Escape Attempts

1. An advantage of the AZ1441 video source on YouTube is that it showed real footage of Alcatraz when the escapees tried to escape.

2. Three men escaped the prison Alcatraz in 1962, but the nearest land from the prison was at least a mile and a half away. Their names were Clarence Anglin, John Anglin, and Frank Morris. Frank Morris was the one out of them three who concocted the plan of escape. He had a IQ of 135. His escape plan is known as "The most colaborate and complex ever concocted." Also this escape was the most famous prison escape in history. -Kayla Griffith

3. Alcatraz was on the waters of the San Francisco Bay. The water in the bay was cold enough to kill a man within a half an hour. It was around 50-55 degrees. The guards in the prison were told to trick the prisoners that sharks were out in that bay so if any prisoners were ever thinking to escape, they wouldn't because of the shark dangers, but what the prisoners didn't know was that there were no sharks in that bay and the only real dangers for prisoners who tried to escape were the cold water and rough wave currents. - Kayla Griffith

4. The nickname for Alcatraz was "The Rock" because the prison was in the middle of the San Francisco Bay on a large rock. -Kayla Griffith

5. Alcatraz was very hard to live in. When taking the tour at Alcatraz you can hear someone stabbing another person in the kitchen which is where some of the prisoners worked. - Hadley Harrington

6. A disadvantage of the AZ1441 source is that it  never said  scientific facts to say that the prisoners definately escaped. -Liz Gould

7. An advantage of the source the NY post is that it showed real pictures of the dummie heads in the prison cells. This source also really helped my understanding of Alcatraz in general,  -Liz Gould

8. An advantage of the video is that the speaker provides good information on what the escapees managed to do while escaping. Also, it is actual footage and voice recordings. -Emma Ardito

9. An advantage of Alcatraz History is the theme and the pictures used, like Frank Lee Morris's passport, or John Anglin's mugshot. -Emma Ardito

10. An advantage of the New York Post is that it provides a video anyone can watch. Videos are a good idea because many people like to listen than read. -Emma Ardito
