4.1. "There will come soft rains" is about a futuristic house that is the only house standing after a nuclear explosion. The text talks about the self-automated appliances around the house. Though this short story seems to be a bunch of crazy words jumbled together, it is actually very deep. When you really think about it, this story is filled with sorrow and misery.
