1. Formative - Process of gathering evidence of student learning. Feedback is provided to students. Instruction is adjusted based on the evidence of student learning.
2. Summative - end of unit assessment to understand students learning. Examples of a summative assessment are; standardized testing, project, final exam.
3. Informal Formative - spontaneous use of questioning to understand students learning. Examples are exit tickets, questioning, thumbs up/thumbs down.
4. Tests, projects, final exam, thumbs up/thumbs down, questioning, exit tickets, running records, checklists
5. Track students learning and growth throughout the school year
