Formulate a Purpose

* Enter Your ideal state for reading: relaxed alertness
*Review your purpose

*Read the title, subtitle and preface ( if there is one?

*Read the first sentence of the paragraph you are going to begin skittering on
*Move in different patters zig zag etc
* if the meaning of the paragraph remains unclear, read the last sentence
*Continue this process thorugh each succceedinh paragraph until you near the end of the reading selection
* Read the last few paragraphs completely.
*Read the summary if there is one.
*Review and reflect.
*Create a brief mind map of your own words to describe the piece.
