Human and Predator Effects on the Great Blue Heron.

The heron is being threatened by the humans and the predators. Humans are constructing on near their habitats. Predators eat their eggs or new born chicks and some eat the grown heron. The predators: eagles crows ravens vultures hawks raccoons bears



Adults are  over 1m high. It's neck, bill, wings and legs are long. It also weighs 6.7 pounds.  


The top of the adult's head is with a black strip on each side. The back is grayish blue and the breast is white streaked with black.  

Life Cycle

It lives a long time some are lucky to live up to 17 years.

Off Spring

The great blue herons who breed are in Canada to northern Mexico and on the Galapagos Islands. Herons that are breading have long Breeding herons have long plumes on their breasts, flanks, and backs.
