1. 2) Gather information: Research what other restaurants and similar organizations have done to possibly avert this situation. Take into consideration the structure of the particular McDonalds building you work at, and try to locate a business that has similar dimensions. If you locate a bank or service industry ask them what they have done to counter this problem in the past.

2. 3)Evaluate your findings and consider alternatives: People at a fast food restaurant may behave differently than people in line at a bank. Also information obtained from competitors may be biased. Alternative may be a barrier or rope, indicating one line and making space more organized. Pros are creating more organization and cons are loss of revenues. Another is two have more than one rope indicating where each line officially forms, so that there are still the same amount of lines. Pros are no loss of revenues and still more organized spacing. Cons are if it is busy this may detract customers from wanting to come in.

3. 1) Clarifying the problem: McDonalds has a multiple line system where it can get confusing for customers to know where they stand in regards to being the next up at the counter. This leads to fighting and bickering among customers.

4. 4) Choose the best alternative: The best strategy is to have multiple barriers indicating multiple lines to the front in order to solve the problem of confusion over space for customers. Doing this will also not cut down profits that having only one barrier and line would have.
