1. Trusteeship council

1.1. The Trusteeship council is not functional any more.  It was formed to look after 11 regions which were not independent.

2. International Court Of Justice

2.1. The International Court of Justice is the judicial organ of the United Nations.  It is also called the 'World Court'.  It has 15 judges.

3. Economic And Social council

3.1. It aims at closing the gap or difference between the rich and the poor countries. It provides direct funds to the countries in need.

4. The General Assembly

4.1. The UN General Assembly is like a world parliament. Each member country has one vote.

5. Security Council

5.1. The main responsibility of the Security council is to look after international peace and security.

6. Secretariat

6.1. The Secretariat takes care of the day to day working of the UN and also looks after the programmes and policies of the UN bodies.
