1. Schools offer mental health literacy training  to students and staff in order to increase their knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions so as to promote earlier intervention, as well as reduce stigma and discrimination against people with mental health conditions.

2. Accessing these Services:  Begin with your SERT at school, they may put you in contact with your local CMHA site, if you have access to the internet there are several links that could be of use: http://www.children.gov.on.ca/htdocs/English/topics/specialneeds/mentalhealth/index.aspxhttp://www.cmha.ca/highschool/

3. Vision: -Providing clients and families with the best service possible - Promoting the optimal use of resources through quality improvement - Supporting service providers in their work on behalf of clients - Striving for mental health and wellness for all Ontarians

4. Education: Ontario goals in education are in two major areas: 1) workers will respond within schools (elementary and secondary) to address the mental health and addiction needs of students and 2) Mental health nurses, will provide health related advice within schools, as well as liaise with community and institutional care accessed by students

5. Goal:Community mental health care involves many different services designed to meet local needs. These programs are delivered by community agencies, hospitals or health clinics. These community-based agencies are designed to serve the most vulnerable and most severely mentally ill.

6. Inclusion:In consultation with First Nations partners, Ontario will develop a multi-year Aboriginal Children and Youth Strategy. Responding to the recommendations from the Commission to Promote Sustainable Child Welfare.  The strategy will focus on building community-driven, integrated and culturally appropriate supports to help Aboriginal children and young people grow up healthy and reach their full potential.
