2. Types of Assessment

2.1. Summative: Should clearly demonstrate students' ability and knowledge of the given subject. Ties-in to central idea and encompasses many elements of the unit.

2.2. Formative: Natural part of the learning process. Demonstrates prior knowledge, acquired knowledge, and the direction future lessons should go. Gives regular feedback to students and teacher.

3. Recording

3.1. Tools: Rubrics, exemplars, checklists, anecdotal records, and continuums.

3.2. Strategies: Observations, performance assessments, process-focused assessments, selected responses, and open-ended tasks.
