AUTHORING TOOL IS A SOFTWARE PACKAGE : organize and edit the multimedia elements of multimedia project.                                              Design screen layouts using templates.                                         Create interactivity .                          Assembling diverse multimedia elements into a single ,cohesive product.

7. EDITING AND ORGANIZING FEATURES 1) PROGRAMMING FEATURES : Visual programming  with icons. Examples : flash , livecode , & toolbook.                  2) INTERACTIVITY FEATURES : content and flow of information in a project .      3) PERFORMANCE TURNING : authoring system should facilitate precise timing of events .                       4)PLAYBACK FEATURES : build part of project and then test it immediately.     5) DELIVERY FEATURES : run time version not allow user to access and change the content .
