3. How Are Programs/Services Accessed?

3.1. Girls Inc, also hosts many community events that are open to the public, including conferences, walks and seminars. School programs are arranged through individual schools and the Durham District School Board. Individuals are welcome to register for specific programs. Community drop in programs are open to anyone interested.

4. - Empower girls of all ages and abilities, teach girls to value themselves and their individual strengths, help girls to grow up to be leaders and role models, working towards creating positive change and breaking down stereotypes, limitations and cycles.

5. Other Pertinent Information: Girls Inc also provides workshops on life skill development including learning about finances, healthy eating, building relationships and establishing career objectives. They are advocates for literacy and promoting independence among young girls and women.

6. Girls Inc. supports girls of all ages and abilities. They work together with local agencies such as Big Sisters and the United Way to help young girls develop confidence and strengthen their abilities. In addition, they are based out of the Durham Region (Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa) where they serve many different cultures. They also run programs in a variety of elementary schools and other community areas. For example, they have organized a Pre and Post Natal Nutrition Program to help young mothers up the age of 26. Girls Inc. works to provide equitable practices for all young girls and working together to break various cycles.
