1. Bitmap -simple matrix of the tiny dots that form an image and displayed on screen -use combination block of pixel to represent image  -each pixel is assigned a specific location and color value Bitmap sources -capture using a camera -capture from photo

2. Vector drawing -applications of vector-drawn object :CAD programs needed by architects and engineers  :graphic artists designing for the print media -how vector-drawn images work :described by the location of two endpoints :makes use of Cartesian coordinates -vector-drawn images versus bitmaps :vector use less memory space and have smaller file size compare to bitmap :vector graphics plug-ins download faster and used for animation,draw faster than bitmap. :easily scalable without loss of resolution

Color and Palettes -understanding natural light and color :color is the frequency of a light wave within the narrow band of the electromagnetic spectrum to which human eye responds. :each atom produces uniquely specific colors :3 types of color -additive color*three primary color-red,green and blue(RGB) -subtractive color*created by combining colored media such as paints or ink and create color in printing -color palettes*color of pixel displayed on screen

5. Dithering -using a mathematical algorithm -process whereby the color value of each pixel is changed to the closest matching color value in the target palette
